Rose Taking His Time

Many high profile recruits are making early decisions nowadays, but that Daron Rose is not likely to be one of them. The massive Florida lineman is only sure of two official visits he will take, and has not even set up the actual dates yet.

Life is good if you are Daron Rose. The 6-5, 325-pound, offensive tackle from Tampa, Fla., (Jefferson) has schools from across the country chasing his signature. But right now it is football time, not recruiting time, for Rose.

"I have tried to contact a few coaches, but right now (fall camp) is really not a good time for them," Rose said of his recruitment. "I have been busy, too."

Rose is still shopping for the five schools he will take official visits to.

"I only know of two schools that I will visit right now…Oklahoma and Florida State."

Rose went on to say that he is really concentrating on his senior season and recruiting is more or less on the back burner for the time being.

SMITTY'S TAKE - Rose is simply not in recruiting mode right now. I have expected Rose to make a late decision since the outset, but I am more convinced than ever after speaking with him Tuesday night that he will be making his decision the last week of January or possibly on National Signing Day.
