Rose Might Visit for USC

The Oct. 15 clash between Notre Dame and Southern California is more than a battle on the field. The weekend will also be a big recruiting weekend for the Irish. Daron Rose is yet another potential official visitor.

Just how many official visitors will Notre Dame have for the Southern California game? At this pace, the number could equal or surpass the banquet total.

Another potential visitor is Daron Rose, OL, 6-5, 325 pounds, Tampa, Fla., (Jefferson). He has one official visit set, with two official visits in the works.

"I set my official visit to Florida State," Rose said. "I am going there Jan. 27 through the 29th.

"I will probably go to the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game (for my official visit to Oklahoma)," Rose continued. "I will probably go to the Notre Dame/SC (Southern California) game (for my official visit to Notre Dame)."

Rose was not sure about his last two official visits, but according to him he is "open to all of them" for those two open spots.

Rose also said he watched some college games this weekend and one team stood out to him.

"Notre Dame, definitely," Rose said of Notre Dame's performance. "They went out and handled their business like professionals."

Rose also watched South Carolina play Central Florida among other games.

SMITTY'S TAKE - Rose is certainly high on Notre Dame. He was impressed with the way Notre Dame played against Pittsburgh, and in particular how the offensive line performed.

"If" Rose does indeed visit for the Southern California game he wouldn't be able to arrive in South Bend until early Saturday morning as he plays a game the night before. Regardless, it is good to know he is close to setting up an official visit with Notre Dame.

My concern is Florida State was the first official visit Rose set and, the date of that visit means the ‘Noles will receive the last at bat right before National Signing Day. Top Stories
