Early Morning Flight for Jackson

Working through a tight schedule is something most recruits have to do when they take a game weekend official visit. Richard Jackson is doing just that with his official visit to Notre Dame this upcoming weekend.

It is not much fun getting up very early in the morning and heading to the airport to catch a flight. But that is exactly what Richard Jackson, WR, 6-2, 195 pounds, Clermont, Fla., (East Ridge) and his stepfather will be doing this next Saturday so they can make the trek to Notre Dame.

Jackson has a game Friday night so leaving before then would be very difficult.

"Oh no," Jackson answered if he was taking the redeye flight to South Bend. "Yeah, I think my flight is at like 6 am."

NCAA rules allow for a recruit's official visit to last up to 48 hours. Even so, Jackson will be back in Florida before Sunday is over. He still has to go to school like everyone else Monday morning.

Jackson took an official visit to Georgia Tech this past Thursday when the Yellow Jackets took on North Carolina State.

"I had a real good time," Jackson said. "I hung out with Calvin Johnson. The coaches told me he was kind of quiet, but once he wasn't around a bunch of people he talked a lot."

Miami remains in the hunt for Jackson's services as well.

"Next weekend," Jackson said of visiting Miami. "That's when I'm trying to set it up for."

Even if Jackson does visit Miami this upcoming Oct. 22, he is not sure if he will take a fifth and final official visit.

"Tennessee, Louisville, North Carolina State…South Carolina," he commented as to which school could end with his last official visit.
