Three More Visits For Barrie

Jim Barrie took his official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend but is far from done with the recruiting process. Three more schools will make their pitch before Barrie sits down to make a decision.

The two schools that have led throughout Jim Barrie's recruitment are Florida State and Michigan. That has not stopped several other prominent programs from making a serious run at the big offensive lineman from Berkley Prep in Tampa, Fla.

"I just need to take all five of my official visits," Barrie said when asked who his leader was.

Speaking of those official visits, He has already sojourned to Tennessee (Oct. 29) and Notre Dame (Nov. 5). "I have Michigan on the 19th (of November). Florida State will be Dec. 10. Florida will be sometime in December or for the Florida State game (Nov. 26)."

Even with all but one of his official visits lined up, Barrie is still undecided as to when he will make his college decision. "I really don't know," Barrie admitted. "Whenever I'm ready."

Barrie gave his thoughts about his official visit to Notre Dame. "It was great. I really enjoyed it. I really liked the coaches. I think they're going to be really successful the next few years."

"My favorite part of the visit was sitting down with coach Weis," Barrie continued. "He is just a great coach."

It appears that every school still making the cut with Barrie is applying plenty of effort to land him. "They are all doing a pretty job right now," Barrie said of how hard all the schools were recruiting him.

During a tight recruiting race distance often times factors in. Will that be the case with Barrie? "A little bit of a factor, but not too much." Top Stories
