"It's Notre Dame"

Wide receiver prospect Richard Jackson of East Ridge high school (Clermont, Fla.) will announce his decision to attend Notre Dame today on ESPN. Jackson is the 21st known commitment for Notre Dame's 2006 recruiting class. No. 22 could come later today.

"It's Notre Dame," said Richard Jackson when asked what his college decision would be. "The four I narrowed it down to over the last couple months was Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Miami and Pittsburgh. Notre Dame was just the best fit for me.

"Being a receiver, I thought Notre Dame would give me the best opportunity to show what I can do with the ball. Notre Dame definitely puts the ball in the air.

"Coach Weis said he likes to get the ball to his playmakers. If that calls for him to throw the ball 60 times a game, he'll throw the ball 60 times," Jackson added.

"I'd like to play as a freshman. I wouldn't mind red-shirting, but I'm not going to go up there looking to red-shirt.

Jackson finished his season with 45 receptions for 543 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 6 interceptions on defense.

Chris Stewart, an offensive lineman from Klein, Texas will also announce his decision later today. He is considering Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and LSU.
