Tailback Aaron Fryer wants to hear from the Irish

Tampa Jesuit runningback Aaron Fryer is getting a lot of attention from colleges across the country. The 5-11 205 pound tailback talks with Fighting Irish Insider about his future plans and recruiting.

Fryer rushed for 1700 yards last year and 17 touchdowns. Right now, Fryer has offers from Central Florida and South Florida but a host of schools have stopped by his school or have called him on the phone.

"Wake Forrest, North Carolina, Rugters and Boston College have all said they were going to offer. Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Florida, Wake Forrest, Boston College and Rutgers have called me. Army, Maryland, Clemson Ohio State and Miami have been by the school."

I asked Aaron if there were any schools he hoped to hear from. "Yeah, I am hoping to hear from Notre Dame. I also hope that South Carolina calls as well."

Fryer has a 3.0 g.p.a. and is taking his S.A.T. in June. I asked him what was important to him in making a decision. "Some schools are talking about me playing fullback but I don't want to play fullback. Graduation rate is very important to me. The education itself is also important to me. I want to major in business or engineering so that will be a factor."

Fryer plans to make a late commitment and take all his visits. "I just want to find the right school for me. Distance isn't a problem. I just want to know it's my school and feel real comfortable with the school and the education."

Comments. I know Notre Dame is recruiting this player and likes him quite a bit. He is a solid kid with a good attitude. I am sure Notre Dame will be in touch with him very soon. I think ND has a legit shot with him.
