Bush rushed for 2000 yards and 34 touchdowns last year and hails for Helix highschool in Le Mesa, CA. I asked Reggie about his offers thus far. "Right now, the entire Pac 10 has offered as well as Nebraska, Colorado, Colorado State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, that is all I can remember right now."
I asked Reggie who his top schools were at this point. "I haven't really narrowed it down yet. Stanford, Washington, Notre Dame, UCLA, Oregon, Texas, Nebraksa, Oklahoma and Colorado are all up there. Notre Dame hasn't offered yet, they are coming by on Friday so we will see what happens then." Note: I did this interview last Thursday so I am sure they did offer.
Reggie fits the mold of a Notre Dame recruit. He carries and 4.0 g.p.a. and is taking his test on June 8th. I asked Reggie what was important to him in making a decision. "Academics are very important to me. I think the overall athletic program is also important to me. The coaches are also important. I like loyalty to their players. The atmosphere will also be important and probably the weather as well."
I asked Reggie if distance was a problem. "Well, I am kind of a west coast guy. I like the weather here. My family would like me to stay closer to home but they want me to do what is best for me. It will all depend on where I feel the most comfortable."
Reggie will not be attending any camps this year because of track. He is one of the top sprinters in California. He did say his parents do plan to take some trips with him when he goes on his official visits. The world is going to have to wait until signing day to find out where Reggie will attend school.
Comments: I think Notre Dame will have a good shot at Reggie. Late signings have not been kind to Notre Dame lately. Reggie is one of the top players at tailback that Notre Dame is recruiting and I think they have a legitimate shot to land him.
