Miller Likes Notre Dame

Scout.com top-100 offensive line prospect Ryan Miller of Columbine high school (Littleton, Colo.) is starting to see his recruiting pick up. Two weeks ago he received an offer from his childhood favorite, Colorado, and he just received news of another big-time offer.

Notre Dame hasn't issued a lot of scholarship offers for the 2007 recruiting class, but that number grew last week as the Irish decided to offer offensive lineman Ryan Miller (6-7, 280 pounds).

"Actually this past week, I was on the phone with Charlie Weis and he offered me," Miller responded when asked if he had spoken to the Notre Dame coaches. "I got a text message from the recruiting coordinator, Rob Ianello, to give them a call. I called them later that day and Mr. Weis said ‘this is your offer, we're going to take care of you.' That was pretty big news. I was speechless at first. It was great. I think it finally hit me that this is the real deal. Notre Dame is one of the top-notch programs in the country. Being offered by them… this is something I get to work with."

Miller hasn't had an opportunity to visit Notre Dame, but he did receive an invite to Notre Dame's junior day on January 14.

"We missed it because family we had a family event that was going on," Ryan explained. "NCSA runs an Adidas camp at Notre Dame that I'd like to attend and also take a visit there.

"I'm starting to get letters from colleges about junior days, but I'm not sure what I'll do," he added.

Miller has early offers from Notre Dame, Colorado and Nebraska. He will likely add to that list soon.

"Miami has been showing some big interest," Miller said when asked the other schools that were recruiting him heavily. "Those are the top four (Notre Dame, Colorado, Nebraska and Miami) and that's where I'm probably headed.

"I want to take my visits, and when I choose a college, it's going to be where I feel most comfortable. You could say family feelings, the way I click with everyone there. That's what I'm going to base my decision off of.

"I went to Nebraska last year for a wrestling camp so I got to see the indoor track facility. I stayed in the dorms; I got to see the campus. It was a pretty good experience.

"I'm thinking about going to the big man camp for CU just because its close and I'd like to experience that," Miller said.

Although Ryan does have an early top-four, he will keep his options open as the recruiting process develops.
