A Gift From The Football Gods

I just can't see how you could create a better physical specimen. College coaches have got to foaming at the mouth over Palm Bay high school's Joe Cohen. The Melbourne, FL player should change his name to "Athlete." Take a look at this guy!!!

When you are 6-3, 240 pounds, post 27 reps on bench and run a 4.47 at the Nike camp, you are going to get a lot of attention. Joe Cohen is getting a lot of attention.

Cohen is a runningback and a defensive end for Palm Bay high school. Some schools are recruiting him for linebacker. "I will play whatever but I would like to play defensive end in college. I will play whatever will best prepare me for the next level.

Joe has about 30 offers but he can't remember them all. Florida, Florida State, Miami, LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Penn State, Michigan, Syracuse and Clemson are some of the offers he has received so far.

"I am really open. There is a part of me that wants to stay in state but there is a large part of me that wants to go on my own and go my own way. Distance isn't a factor at all. I want to go on my visits and explore my options. I will probably look at schools out of state on my visits so I can see if I like different parts of the country and different schools."

Cohen says that he is wide open right now. He has a 2.7 g.p.a but hasn't taken the test yet. He said he is going to take all 5 visits and decide in January.

Comments. The very best players from the state of Florida rarely leave. Joe does seem more open than most. It is going to take a tremendous effort from coach Miles to get this player to come to Notre Dame. If he can get Cohen to visit, they have a shot. I am just glad that Notre Dame is going all out on players that many don't think they have a shot at. Get even 3 of these true stars and you have something.
