Prior to this week Lee Ziemba (6-7, 305) had a solid list offers that included Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. With a flurry of offers during the past five days, he now has one of the best offer sheets in the country.
Notre Dame just offered," Ziemba said. "Coach Latina called my coach and told him that he wanted to talk to me and have coach Weis talk to me. I kind of knew it was coming. I called coach Latina and coach Weis offered. Then we talked about football and recruiting.
"Yes sir, first time," Ziemba responded when asked if the conversation with coach Weis was his first. "He sounds like a nice guy."
Notre Dame will be hosting a number of their top recruits for the annual spring game April 22.
"They said I could do that [visit for the spring game], but I said I probably couldn't," Ziemba explained. "I have track going on. I was going to do some summer visits.
"They said I could come on an official visit any time this fall and they said I could come this summer during June. I'm not sure... I might do both.
"I'm not sure yet, I have to take my visits and see what fits me, Ziemba replied when asked about his interest in Notre Dame. "They're probably near the top.
"I think the movie Rudy gave me an idea of Notre Dame," Ziemba said. But Notre Dame is Notre Dame… that's prestigious.
Ziemba had 27 pancake blocks, 25 knockdowns, 21 champion blocks and 13 duece blocks this past season for Rogers.
