Washington Heading Back to Notre Dame

Wide receiver prospect Taurian Washington of Saint Mary's Prep School (Orchard Lake, Mich.) has a number of big-time scholarship offers. Notre Dame hasn't tossed their hat in the mix yet, but that doesn't mean the Irish have stopped recruiting him.

Notre Dame has only offered a few wide receivers. They certainly have a lot of interest in Taurian Washington (6-0, 170-pounds). He was invited to the Notre Dame junior day in January and he's been invited back to South Bend for Notre Dame's spring game.

"I'm going down the their spring game with Dionte [Allen]," Washington said of his April 22 trip to South Bend. "I'm just going down to hang out and to see what it's all about. The last time I talked to Notre Dame was when I went down there and I haven't talked to them since then. They've been still sending me stuff though."

Taurian will not only be able to hang out with Dionte Allen, but he'll get a chance to meet up with his friend and Irish wide receiver David Grimes. While Notre Dame hasn't offered Washington, there are plenty of schools knocking at his door.

"Just the same old thing," Washington said when asked about recruiting. "I'm getting a ton of mail and a ton of text messages. [Besides Notre Dame] I'll probably visit Minnesota, Ohio State and I think that's it."

"Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Minnesota, Penn St. Illinois, Wisconsin, N.C. State have offered," Washington said. "Toward fall I'll start to narrow everything down, I'm just trying to let it come to me right now."

Washington had 25 receptions as a junior and scored 12 touchdowns.
