Michael Williams (5-10, 175-pounds) won't need a lengthy tour of the Notre Dame campus to get comfortable. Michael has already seen the campus three times and he has heard numerous stories from family. This trip will be different for Michael though because he owns a scholarship offer from the Irish.
"I'm coming up there and going to check the school out. I'll meet the coaches and stuff like that." Williams responded when asked about his plans to visit Notre Dame. "I had seen the whole football atmosphere before, but I wasn't part of the football atmosphere. This time I'll be more of a part of that because I've been offered a scholarship so it will give me a more in depth look at Notre Dame. I'm just really excited about the trip."
Williams received his offer from the Irish over a month ago. While many Notre Dame fans expect Williams to accept that offer during his visit this weekend, Michael is quick to say that he did not want to rush into a decision.
"Most likely not," Williams said when asked if he planned on making a decision this weekend. "I just don't want to get into a bind. It's really, really early so I have time and I want to make the right decision."
Part of making the right decision is visiting other schools to see what they offer.
"I'm going to Michigan after Notre Dame. I have family in Michigan so we'll see them," Williams explained. "I'm excited to see coach English. I've met him three times at different camps. He's pretty cool. I've never been up to Michigan, but their coaches seem enthusiastic about me coming up there. I like Michigan, I just don't know much about them.
"I'll probably see Northwestern when I'm in Chicago. And we'll probably take some more trips when I get back home."
"I know that Blaine [Irby] will go back to Arizona because that's where he's from, and I'll probably go back there with him," Williams continued. "I hope Notre Dame offers Blaine because I know he has a strong interest in Notre Dame. He's already been offered by Texas, Miami... everybody, but not Notre Dame. He's looking forward to an offer but I guess Notre Dame doesn't know what position they want him at."
As a junior Williams recorded 98 tackles, three sacks, and two interceptions.
