Top Corner Has A Lot Of Offers

When you are 5-11 and run a 4.32 at a Nike camp and playing cornerback, you are going to get a lot of attention. North Mesquite HS is home to Tarell Brown. He is one of the top corner prospects in the country. He has a long list of schools to choose from.

Tarell Brown played mainly tailback last year. He rushed for 1200 yards and 16 touchdowns in 8 games. He does plan to play more corner this year and that is where most teams are interested in him.

"I have a lot of offers. I know I can't name them all but LSU, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Colorado, UCLA, TCU and A&M. Those are most but I know I am forgetting some." Tarell guessed he had at least 10 more.

I asked Tarell if he had any leaders at this point. "Well, not really. I am pretty much wide open to anyone that wants to recruit me." Many think this will be a Texas/A&M battle. It very well could be.

I asked Tarell what was important to him in picking a school. "I want to feel like I am part of a family. Academics is probably #1. I want to get a good education because I could get hurt my first year. I want to pick a school where I like the coaches and that it feels like a family and I am part of that family."

Comments. A real nice kid. He has a 3.6 g.p.a. so I doubt he has trouble getting in. Notre Dame would not have offered if they thought he would. Many say it will be a Texas/A&M battle. He didn't give me any indication that this would be the case but he didn't say he was leaning anywhere. He did say distance would not be a major concern. The first obstacle is to get him to visit.
