Benn making the rounds's No.1 wide receiver prospect, Arrelious Benn, of Dunbar high school (Washington, D.C.) has been busy making preparing for his upcoming season. But in between passing tournaments he is taking a look at the top schools that he is interested in attending.

Arrelious Benn (6-foot-2, 190-pounds) has seen Notre Dame twice already, so it isn't a big surprise that he isn't stopping in to visit while he is in the Midwest. Instead he is in Champaign, Ill. to see what Ron Zook and the Illini program have to offer.

"I'm at Illinois right now on an unofficial visit," Benn said of his first stop on this road trip. "I'm just out here getting the tour and meeting all the coaches. I'm leaving tomorrow and fly out to California for Wednesday and Thursday with my mentor."

The priority for Benn on his trip to the West Coast is to visit the USC campus and see what the Trojan program has to offer. He will also take time to visit with a friend he met at Notre Dame's spring game, Jimmy Clausen.

"I'm doing the same thing out there," Benn said about his unofficial visit to USC. "I'm going to check out the facilities and see what's up. I'm supposed to workout when I'm out there, so I'll probably bump into [Clausen] when I'm out there. I'll probably workout with him, and that's pretty much it."

There has was a recent report that Benn was favoring Maryland, but according to Benn no team has pulled into the lead for his services and Florida State, Notre Dame, USC, Maryland and Illinois remained on equal footing.

"That's a typo. That's was a misprint," Benn said of the claim that Maryland was his leader.

As a junior Benn had 49 catches for over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns. Top Stories
