Chinedum Ndukwe Is Irish!

Chinedum Ndukwe is considered one of the finest wide receiver prospects in the nation. Ndukwe has been offered several scholarships and today he's made his college decision. Nedu is headed to South Bend.

Chinedum "Nedu" Ndukwe, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound, wide receiver from Dublin (Ohio) Coffman is ranked as the #1 wide receiver prospect in the Midwest. Nedu has an impressive list of scholarship offers and today he's decided where he'll play his college football.

"I committed to Notre Dame." Ndukwe said. "I faxed the other schools that were recruiting me and told them that I committed to Notre Dame.

"I just cant think of a better place in the world to be both athletically and academically. I looked at everything and I really love the school. Coach (Tyrone) Willingham and coach (Trent) Myles are two more reasons why I chose Notre Dame."

It didn't seem very long ago that Notre Dame wasn't even in the picture in the recruitment of Chinedum Ndukwe. It was the encouragement of Nedu's father and brother (Kelechi) that brought the Irish to the forefront.

"My dad and brother talked me into going to the Notre Dame camp. I didn't even have a scholarship offer in my mind. I just wanted to go out and prove myself and everything just seemed to work out."

This is a super get for the Fighting Irish. Ndukwe is a big, physical, fast and tenacious wide receiver that's poised for a big year in 2002. Nedu will be on the receiving end of passes from All-American candidate Brady Quinn.

Will Nedu be catching passes from Brady Quinn after the 2002 season? It's a definite possibility as Notre Dame has put their best foot forward in the recruitment of the Ohio gunslinger. Top Stories
