Benn will take visits

Scout.com's No.1-ranked wide receiver prospect Arrelious Benn of Dunbar high school (Washington, D.C.) wanted to make his birthday September 8 a special birthday by announcing his college decision. Like many things in recruiting, that has changed and Benn will announce his decision at a later date.

Arrelious Benn (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) thought he was ready, but that isn't the case. An announcement on his birthday has been changed and Arrelious will now take three official visits before announcing his decision.

"I felt I was rushing my decision," Benn said when asked about his change of plans. "I might wait a couple more weeks, take my time and then make my decision. I'm going to take three official visits to Illinois, Florida State and Notre Dame.

"I realized that was an early date, and I want to be sure with the decision I make and I want to take my time and see some things. There isn't anything different, Notre Dame is still in the lead. It's just that I'm going to wait a little bit longer, take some visits and enjoy everything and then make my decision."

Benn is sure he'll make it to South Bend for what is becoming a very big recruiting weekend for the Irish. Benn will join a number of Notre Dame's top recruiting targets in South Bend on September 16.

"I'm probably going to visit [Notre Dame] for the Michigan game. I'm not sure of the date for Illinois. I'll just pick one. I cant wait too long because I'm graduating early and I need to make my decision."

As a junior Benn had 49 catches for over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns.
