Scout.com's No. 13-rated wide receiver, Duval Kamara, (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) didn't realize all the benefits of making an early college decision, but he certainly understands the added benefits now.
"It's been pretty quiet," Kamara said with excitement. "I've been enjoying it and taking it as it comes. I'm happy I made an early decision. It takes some of the pressure off. I get to relax and go through my senior year and just work hard."
Although it been over two months since Duval committed to the Irish, the Notre Dame coaches have been staying in close contact with him.
"I keep in touch with coach Ianello and coach Weis. I try to keep in touch with Jimmy Clausen as well," Kamara explained. "I think I'm going to come out for the Penn State game. I might take my official for that game and then come out for the Michigan game because there are going to be a bunch of guys out will be out there."
It will be some time until Kamara steps onto the Notre Dame turf, but he's just about to go full tilt with this high school teammates.
"We started practicing about three weeks ago, so we're running plays and the whole nine yards," Kamara said. "We just got helmets yesterday. We don't have pads on, but we do that next week.
"We have fourteen guys coming back. We run the ‘wing-T' and our fullback is coming back and our quarterback. Our whole offensive line is coming back, but we lose our two halfbacks so we're waiting to see how that plays out.
"Our first game is September 8," Duval said. "I can't wait for the season to get started. I want the scrimmages, I want everything to come."
As a junior, Kamara had 43 receptions for 930 yards and 12 touchdowns.
