Benn changes date of ND visit's No.1 ranked wide receiver prospect Arrelious Benn of Dunbar high school (Washington, D.C.) hasn't set a date to announce his college decision, but he has set one official visit.

At one point Arrelious Benn (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) wanted to announce his college decision in early September, but he decided that he needed a little more time to sort through his options.

Like that announcement date, his official visit to Notre Dame has been changed as well.

"I'm coming to Penn State," Benn said of his plans to visit South Bend. "I was supposed to go to the Michigan game, but it didn't fit into my schedule. We have a game the same day as the Michigan game.

"Notre Dame is a great situation. They'll be thin at receiver and I think I bring speed to the position."

Despite all of the scholarship offers, recruiting has been very unusually quiet for Arrelious. Other than the Notre Dame visit he hasn't decided on a date for his other trips.

"No, not yet," Benn replied when asked about his other official visits. "I haven't talked to anyone lately. Everyone has leveled out right now. It's still Notre Dame, Florida State, USC, Illinois and Maryland.

"I've been busy with practice and getting ready for school. I'm leaving early so this is my last semester of class.

"Our first real game is Friday against Anacostia," he added.

As a junior Benn had 49 catches for over 1,100 yards and 16 touchdowns. Top Stories
