Runningback Thomas is Interested in Notre Dame

Washington, PA star Travis Thomas has quite a few offers so far. He is interested in Notre Dame and hopes they will offer him. The 6-1 200 pound runningback lists a 4.38 40 time and many schools on the east coast have offered him.

Another runningback the Irish appear to be interesed in is Travis Thomas. Thomas rushed for a little over 1100 yards, had 350 yards receiving and scored 23 touchdowns last year. He also record 60 tackles last year playing outside linebacker and strong safetey. So far, he has offers from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Northwestern, Iowa, Syracuse, Boston College and U Conn.

Travis did attend any camps but has gone on some unofficial visits. "I have been to Pittsburgh and West Virginia. I am heading to Penn State next thursday to go check them out as well. I haven't really narrowed things down yet but I plan to do that before my season."

I asked Travis if he knew of some schools he would likely visit. "I will go see Northwestern and Boston College for sure. If I were offered by Notre Dame, I would definitely go there as well. They have offered me yet so I am not sure if I will visit there or not."

I asked Travis what would be important in his decision. "Academics first, then I want to feel comfortable with the coaching staff. Also, location is important. I don't want to go too far. I won't go to California or anything like that."

Travis has said he has been keeping in touch with the coaches from all the schools he is interested in and plans to narrow things down soon. He said he was not sure if he would take all 5 visits but he will take at least two. He said that all the schools that he is considering are sending him mail all the time.

Comments. Travis is a great kid. He wants Notre Dame to offer and has said he would visit if they do. I think if they do offer, they have a good shot at him. It seems everyone on the east coast is interested in him. We will have to wait and see if Notre Dame will offer him.
