Brooks has interest in Irish's No. 6 rated wide receiver, Ron Brooks of MacArthur high school (Irving, Texas) is not only one of the top receivers in Texas, but he is one of the top receiving prospects in the country. The five-star athlete has narrowed his college choices and the Irish have made the cut.

Notre Dame hasn't offered Ron Brooks (5-foot-11, 170 pounds) a scholarship at this time, but they have been talking to him about visiting South Bend.

"I'm trying to get an official visit set," Brooks said when asked about his interest in Notre Dame. "I haven't talked to coach Oliver for a couple weeks though. They're trying to get a visit set after our football season.

"I'm definitely interested in Notre Dame. They're in my top-eight. I'm looking at Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Tennessee. Everyone is pretty much the same right now, I'm just trying to take my visits and see what I like.

"I have one visit set up to Nebraska when they play Texas," Brooks said. "I really haven't had a chance to look at the schedules of the other schools and set up visits"

Brooks hasn't had a chance to watch much football this fall, he's intent on improving his play and leading MacArthur to a district championship.

"I watch highlights and stuff on Saturday," Brooks responded when asked if he had watched Notre Dame this season. "I'm watching film for next week. I scout our next opponent so I really don't get a chance to watch much football.

"We're 2-1 right now. I'm doing pretty good. I'm playing quarterback and I'm towards the top of our district in rushing and touchdowns. I'm not sure what my stats are, but I'm doing pretty good." Top Stories
