Irish miss on Williams

Defensive tackle Ian Williams of Lyman high school (Longwood, Fla.) has been consistent through his recruitment. He's always had one school as his favorite, but he has been willing to listen to other suitors.

Despite Notre Dame's need for interior defensive linemen, the Irish didn't impress Ian Williams (6-foot-2, 300 pounds) enough to sway him from his long-time favorite.

"I won't say that there isn't a small chance, but its pretty much Florida right now." Williams responded when asked if Notre Dame was still under consideration. "I'm going to announce November 3 for our homecoming parade."

Although Florida has a big lead Williams will take a look at a couple more programs before he announces.

"I'm going to visit Ole Miss this weekend. It's their homecoming game," Williams said. They've been recruiting me pretty hard the last couple months, so I just want to go up and see what the atmosphere is like up there.

"I might go to Clemson or Tennessee for a visit, but I'm not sure."
