Williams returns from ND

Scout.com's No.13-ranked cornerback Michael Williams of St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura (Calif.) has been to Notre Dame a number of times in the past, so it wasn't likely that he was going to learn anything new about the university. Instead, Michael was looking for comfort on his official visit this past weekend.

In a couple months Michael Williams (5-10.5, 187 pounds) will decide where he wants to attend college, and it's very likely that his choice will come down to either Notre Dame or Michigan. The Irish received his initial official visit this weekend and they were hoping to make a strong impression on the standout cornerback.

"It was a good visit. It was a really good presentation" Williams replied when asked about his visit to Notre Dame. "I met with the Director of Admissions, Dan Saracino. It was nice meeting with him. He gave me a more in-depth perspective of Notre Dame and the process of how hard it is to get in there. I appreciated that.

"I had fun. I got to see what possible future teammates I'd have. It was fun to hear what the other recruits had about Notre Dame. It was actually very similar to mine."

Also in attendance for the weekend were Armando Allen, Ben Martin, Chris Donald, Harrison Smith and Everson Griffen.

"It was fun hanging out with all the recruits and the players," Michael explained. "That was the best part of the trip. Terrail Lambert was my host. We were both pretty happy to see each other. We hung out with Travis Thomas and D.J. Hord.

Although Williams had been to Notre Dame on a number of occasions, this was the first time he saw a game at Notre Dame stadium.

"I had fun at the pep rally and the game," Williams explained "It was pretty intense for playing against Stanford. The students are crazy and I did some push-ups. It wasn't that exciting of a game, but it was still a lot of fun. The students were standing up the entire game… they were pretty intense.

"The weather was nice, the Indian summer. A couple more weeks and it would have been beautiful… it was still really beautiful in my opinion. I really liked it. I wish I had taken some pictures."

Michael isn't certain how many additional official visits he will take, but he knows that he will certainly take at least one more.

"A visit with Michigan," Williams said when asked about his other official trips. "I don't know when I'll take that visit because we don't have anymore bye weeks, from here on out it's non-stop. I haven't figured [whether I'll take any other visit]. It's possible, but it's just Michigan right now."
