Nuss enjoys second trip

Notre Dame commitment Andrew Nuss of Stone Bridge high school (Ashburn, Va.) took his official visit for the Michigan game. That game didn't turn out like he had wanted, so he came back for the Stanford game and this time the result turned out more to his liking.

Andrew Nuss (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) didn't get enough of Notre Dame during his official visit so he returned a couple weeks later to watch his future teammates take on Stanford. He also wanted to see if he could help recruit a couple players.

"The trip was really good," Nuss said of his unofficial visit for the Stanford game. "It was my dad's birthday and I wanted to take him to a game. They won so it was a great time. I had a great time at the Michigan game but they didn't win that game.

"I talked to the recruits and tried to get them to come to ND. I talked to Armando Allen, and Ben Martin. I think they had a great time. I think Notre Dame has a good chance to get them.

"I was in the locker room," he said. "I talked to the offensive linemen. I had met Sam Young and Eric Olsen before. I feel very comfortable there"

Nuss has always felt comfortable at Notre Dame, but with each trip to South Bend his excitement to join the program increases.

"I learned a lot on my official visit, Nuss explained. "When you meet people of the first time you're just starting to get to know them and you learn about their background. Once you get to know them better you become more comfortable and you talk about a lot more. I think I know all I need to know about Notre Dame for now.

"They're not sure which side of the ball I'll play on They said it really depends on how recruiting goes. I'm real excited. Whatever gets me on the field the fastest."

Coach Vaas will be in attendance when Stone Bridge (6-0) travels to play (3-2) Madison (Vienna, Va.) Friday at 7:30 p.m. Top Stories
