The only official visit Emeka Nwankwo (6-foot-5, 270 pounds) had taken was to Notre Dame. After that visit he felt he had enough information on the schools he was considering to make his decision.
"Nothing going on this week," Nwankwo replied when asked if he was prepared to reveal his college decision. "I was supposed to announce, but I changed my mind. There really wasn't a reason, I just wanted to take the rest of my visits before I made my decision.
"I'm going to take official visits to Florida and Florida State. Those are the only two that I'm trying to work out for now. My coach is working on getting those scheduled. I think they'll be toward the end of the season.
"My top two schools are Notre Dame and Florida right now, but I want to go check out Florida State," he explained. "Notre Dame and Florida State's depth chart isn't as deep as Florida's on either side of the ball. That's a plus for both of those schools over Florida."
Emeka doesn't have plans on making it back to South Bend, so the Irish will have to hope that the talented lineman can remember his visit Notre Dame trip once he returns from the two Florida schools. For now Nwankwo does think highly of Notre Dame.
"It's Notre Dame," Nwankwo said when asked what he liked about the Irish. "They only lost one game this season. The coaching is real good there. They keep in touch with me. Coach Weis called me week ago just to see how I was doing. Coach Paramlee called me and was at my game this weekend. Notre Dame is keeping tabs on me. They know what I'm doing."
