Greg Little Picks ND

Greg Little of Hillside high school (Durham, N.C.) became the 11th player to commit to Notre Dame for the 2007 recruiting class today when he announced that he would attend Notre Dame during his U.S. Army All-American selection ceremony today.

A day after Emeka Nwankwo of Hollywood, Fla. picked Notre Dame, Greg Little (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) selected the Irish over the North Carolina Tar Heels.

"I committed to Notre Dame," Little said. "It was just the best situation for me as a receiver, to go in and play early in an NFL system.

"The season Notre Dame is having has been pretty good even though they lost to Michigan early. It's a great opportunity to play for [a successful] team. They play in the big games, and at the next level every game is big."

Notre Dame's wide receivers have been wildly successful since Charlie Weis arrived two years ago. A large part of their success can be attributed to the work Irish assistant coach Rob Ianello has put in the receivers.

"He knows how to coach big receivers and he has put guys to the next level with the fundamentals that he teaches," Little said. "He's just a good family oriented guy. He's very upfront like coach Weis is. I talked to coach Ianello more than I talked to [coach Lewis], and we built a good relationship." Top Stories
