Fred McConnell, a 6-foot-4, 325-pound, offensive lineman from Southfield (MI) Lathrup will be a prospect to watch in 2002.
McConnell will be a three-year varsity starter on both sides of the ball for Lathrup. He was named all-area as a junior.
"Northwestern has offered me a scholarship." McConnell said.
"My favorites are Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State.
"I really don't have a leader right now but I did grow up a Michigan fan."
McConnell also letters in basketball. He carries a 3.7 GPA and scored 1200 on his SAT.
