Clemson is the Final Stop for Edwards's No.1 ranked weak-side linebacker, Lorenzo Edwards of Edgewater high school (Orlando, Fla.) has completed four of his five official visits. Clemson is the lone school among his top-five that he has not visited, but Edwards will take care of that this weekend.

Lorenzo Edwards (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) traveled to Florida for an official visit several weeks ago, and he'll hit the road this weekend to take his final visit.

"It was really nice," Edwards said of his weekend visit to Gainesville. "The game was a nail-bitter. Other than football, everything was lined up for us. Every question we had, they had an answer for.

"I'm going to Clemson this weekend. I'm heading over Saturday morning. From the academic side, they have a great architecture program. I'm just going to keep my ears open and take everything in. I'll keep my eyes and ears open and absorb everything.

"Academics is the main priority, because that's why I'm going to college," Edwards listed as the elements that he would focus on while at Clemson. "The football team, the depth chart and whether I fit in."

After he returns from Clemson, Edwards will focus on his options, and ultimately choose between Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, Georgia Tech and Clemson.

"I'm just making comparisons right now. I haven't had that feeling [of a school standing out]," Edwards said. "Any question that comes to my head, I'll ask. Every one of the schools that I'm considering fit me academically.

"I'll need to start to put some thought behind what I want to do and what school really, really suits me. I just need to go in-depth because the date of my decision is getting closer. Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia Tech or the others, they all have different atmospheres. Every school is going to have a different atmosphere, it just depends on how you adapt to it."

Edwards will announce his decision during the U.S. Army All-American game on January 6. Top Stories
