Ben Martin (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) has his list of schools narrowed down to four. He had already visited two of his favorites, Notre Dame and Florida. Martin had already been to Ohio State several times, but last weekend he made his official visit to get a closer look at the Buckeye program.
"It went well. It was a nice visit," Martin said when asked about his trip to Columbus. "I didn't learn anything new, I just got to meet some of the recruits that were already committed. They were nice kids. I had a pretty good time with them. That was about it."
Martin has seen Notre Dame a couple times, and after returning from Ohio State, his options are starting to separate themselves, but he isn't ready to make his decision.
"A little bit, but not right now," Martin replied when asked if he was starting to get and idea of where he would like to go to school. "I have my Tennessee visit next week. I'm going to take my other visit and just take things from there."
Martin will be playing in the U.S. Army All-American game in January 6. It has become popular for the participants to announce their decision during the game, but Martin doesn't think he will be one of the players announcing that day.
"I'll probably do it in January sometime. Probably after the US Army game," Martin said about the timing of his decision. "There's a lot to think about, and I just want to make sure I know where I want to go. I don't want to get caught in the hype and pressure myself to commit while I'm down there."
