Top Corner Is Interested In Irish

Tall corners are hard to come by. Daytona Beach Florida's Kenny Scott fits the bill. He has a lot of offers so far and the Irish have started recruiting him more heavily.

Kenny Scott is considered one of the top corner prospects in the country. He measure just a tad over 6-1 at the Nike camp and weighs 177 pounds. Last year, he mainly played offense where he rushed for over 800 yards and caught 27 balls for over 700 yards totaling 16 touchdowns.

I asked Kenny who has offered him so far. "I have quite a few, I will just give you the bigger schools. Florida, FSU, Nebraska, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Maryland. I am sure I am forgetting a few." Kenny said he has more offers but these were off the top of his head.

I asked Kenny about his top schools and where Notre Dame fit in. "My top schools are Florida, FSU, Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee and Nebraska right now." I asked Kenny about Notre Dame. "I have heard that Notre Dame is saying a lot of good things about me lately. They have been recruiting me much harder lately. I have been thinking about that a lot. They send a lot of hand-written stuff. I just haven't talked to them yet. I was a track meet when they stopped by in May so I missed them."

Kenny also had this to add. "I have always liked them. They just brought in Coach Willingham and they look like they are trying to make a change for the better. They are on National tv, NBC, ABC, ESPN, they are all fighting for their games. You see a movie like Rudy and you can't help but like them. If they offered, they would definitely move up my list."

I asked Kenny if he was likely to stay in Florida or SEC country. "Nah, it's not like that. I just want to go to a school I feel comfortable at. I don't care how far it is. I just want to see how the program is going and how I interact with the coaches and the players. It won't matter how far it is."

Kenny said he would likely take all 5 visits and some during his season. He wants to get two to three out of the way during the season so he can have time to make the right decision.

Comments. A new name you will be hearing more about. Great kid and I think if they offer, they can at least get him to visit. As always, it's hard to get these top players from Florida but it can be done.
