Peters Sets Visits

Defensive line prospect Jason Peters has pared his list of schools to four, and he has scheduled his official visits. The standout from Catholic high school (Baton Rogue, La.) had planned on visiting Notre Dame, but as of now that does not look like it will happen.

Notre Dame is impressed with Jason Peters (6-foot-4, 260 pounds), but they would like to recruit him as a defensive tackle. The problem is that he is determined to play defensive end in college.

"I won't be going to Notre Dame for an official visit," Peters responded when asked if he intended to make a trip to South Bend. "It just comes down to them recruiting me as a defensive tackle.

"Instead of going to Notre Dame, I'm going to go to Florida. I'll be going to Florida on January 20 and I don't have any other open dates, so I won't be able to visit Notre Dame.

"I haven't necessarily eliminated Notre Dame, but I'm not taking an official visit there," Peters explained. "It would be difficult to pick Notre Dame, but I wouldn't say that I'm not interested in them just because I'm not taking an official visit there.

"I've visited Georgia Tech already. I'm going to visit LSU (1/27), Florida (1/20) and Nebraska (1/12)." Top Stories
