Wright is at Notre Dame this Weekend

One of many needs Notre Dame would like to fill in this recruiting class is enforcer in the secondary. Major Wright would certainly fit the bill. He not only hits like a ton of bricks, but he also has the ability to cover wide receivers down field. The U.S. Army All-American safety prospect is in South Bend this weekend for an official visit.

Major Wright is the type of player that can change the momentum of a game on any play. He brings a swagger to the field that is infectious. If the Notre Dame football program is going to take the next step and become a perennial top-five program they will need to sign players like Wright.

Wright visited Notre Dame unofficially for the spring game in April, and he will be back in town this weekend for an official visit.

"Yeah, I'm heading up there [Friday]," Wright responded when asked about his plans to visit to Notre Dame. "I'm not looking for anything really, I'm just looking to have fun."

If Notre Dame is going to have a chance to pull Wright north, they will need to make a big impression. Many feel the Irish are a long shot to sign Major, but he insists Notre Dame's chances are as good as the other programs he is considering.

"They have a chance," Wright said when asked if Notre Dame was in contention for his services. "I'm still looking at Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, and Ohio State. Everyone is even right now.

Wright has already taken official visits to Ohio State and Florida. Next weekend he will take his final visit to Miami before preparing for his decision.

"I'm going to announce my decision on signing day," Wright said.
