Josh Jenkins (6-foot-4, 285 pounds) proved that he was one of the top offensive linemen in the country at the U.S. Army National Combine and it didn't take Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis long to determine that he wanted Jenkins to be a part of his program.
"Notre Dame offered me full ride," Jenkins responded when asked about Notre dame's interest in him. "Me and coach Weis talked on the phone and he said that he watched my film and it took him about 30 seconds to know that he wanted to offer me a scholarship. I didn't send them my film, so I'm not even sure how they got it.
"It was pretty cool. It was pretty humbling. I wasn't expecting it to tell you the truth. [The conversation] went pretty good. He seems like a normal guy from talking to him. He said he thought I was a great player and that he thought I could help out the program.
"I'm definitely interested in them," Jenkins added
Jenkins committed to his home-state Mountaineers in September, but as his stock has grown Josh has decided to look into what other programs can offer.
"Everyone knows that I've opened up my recruiting," Jenkins explained. "I'm going to take all of my visits and then pick the best place. I definitely want to take an official visit to Notre Dame. I'm going to try to get over there for one of their junior days. It just depends on what is going on here.
Jenkins now holds scholarship offers from Florida State, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Ohio, Virginia Tech and Marshall.
