"I can tell you that my visit is already setup for December 6th, so I'm definitely coming to Notre Dame for an official visit," Harris, an offensive lineman and defensive end for St. Paul Cretin Derham-Hall, told me when we spoke last evening.
"And I'm also going to be down there next weekend for the Notre Dame-Michigan game."
Harris, a three-year offensive and defensive starter, said that as far as he knows Notre Dame is recruiting him to play on the offensive line, but admits that it makes no difference to him which side of the ball they want him on. The consensus seems to be that Harris has the most promise on O-line at the collegiate level.
Ten schools have offered Ryan, but he said that he wasn't discussing which schools he favors at the moment. In the past, Harris has listed USC, UCLA, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Stanford as favorites.
Comments: It was hard to gauge from one phone call, especially since Ryan didn't want to get into which schools he was leaning toward, but I think Notre Dame has a very legit shot at landing him. Even though he didn't want to go into specifics concerning his favorites, he was quick to tell me the date of his official visit and that he would be there to watch the Irish play Michigan. Ryan is the type of guy Notre Dame needs – good on and off the field. Football interest aside, Harris is an above average student (3.8 GPA) and is very well spoken.
