Virginia DB Likes Irish

Fighting Irish Insider caught up with Fairfax Virginia's Chase Anastasio last night to check into how his season is going for him. Does he plan to visit Notre Dame?

Chase has had a rough start to the season. He is out for two games with an injury but his team won their first game 28-14. I talked to Chase about setting his visits. "I haven't set any yet. I have been talking to a lot of coaches so far. It looks like I will be visiting Notre Dame on Dec 6th but that hasn't been set for sure yet. I know I will visit them for sure. I will also visit UVA for sure and my parents want me to take a trip out to Stanford. I am not sure if I will visit Virginia Tech or not because I have been there so many times."

Chase says he plans on taking 3-4 visits this year and making a late December decision. I asked Chase if he has attended any games so far. "I went to the UVA and South Carolina game last week. That was a great game. UVA impressed me, they are so young but they hung in there." Chase said he isn't sure if he will attend any more games this year.

I asked Chase if anyone was leading at this point. "Not really, I need to go see the other schools so I have a better idea. I think they are all pretty even right now until I take my visits." Chase said that UVA and Stanford are recruiting him to play both ways. Notre Dame is recruiting him for defense. "They have really said if I will play corner or safety. They said they would like to look at me at all positions. "

Comments. The in-state schools will be the competition here. I doubt we will really know much on Chase until he visits Notre Dame. Notre Dame is very much in the race but we won't likely get a feeling for their chances until after his visit. Top Stories
