Knox Enjoyed A Hectic May

Milton Knox is one of the top running backs on the West Coast. The month of May was hectic for the standout from Birmingham High School (Van Nuys, Calif.), but he enjoyed the recruiting attention.

Notre Dame had shown early interest in Milton Knox (5-foot-8, 200 pounds), but according to Milton the Irish have been rather quiet lately.

"Notre Dame didn't come to my school [in May]," Knox responded when asked about his contact with Notre Dame. "I'm still getting all the recruiting mail and everything, although I haven't been getting any text messages. The only person I talk to on a regular basis about Notre Dame is Dayne Crist.

"I'd like to take an official visit out to Notre Dame. I'm trying to figure out a way that Dayne and I can go out there. He'll be able to show me around while I'm out there."

Notre Dame hasn't offered Knox a scholarship, but he does have plenty of options.

"Right now things are going well, but it's been slow in June," Knox explained. "Recruiting was really busy in May, probably the busiest that it's been, but now that it's June things have slowed down.

"The schools that have been recruiting me heavily are Ole Miss, Arizona, UCLA, Washington and Washington State. They've all been hot on my trail and have been since day one.

"I'm keeping my options open. I'm waiting until September to figure out where I'm going to be taking my trips. I'm going to take all of my official visits. I'm going to see all of the campuses. I want to take my time and see everything. I want to see where I'd be living for the next four or five years. I think that's the right thing to do."

Once Milton has a chance to take his official visits, he believes he'll be able to make a decision.

"I'm going to make my decision on my birthday, January 25," Knox said. "My birthday is on a Wednesday, so I'll do it then or the Thursday after my birthday. That's my plan as of right now."
