Jenkins Is Still In Contact With ND

Notre Dame has been working hard to stay in the race for Josh Jenkins. The standout from Parkersburg High School (W.Va.) has been pursued by some of the top programs in the country, and the Irish are still in position to land an official visit.

Notre Dame wanted to get Josh Jenkins (6-foot-4, 285 pounds) on campus this summer, but Josh wasn't able to make the trip to South Bend. The Irish coaching staff has stayed in touch with Jenkins and it may net them a visit this fall.

"Everything is going good with Notre Dame," Jenkins responded when asked about his contact with Notre Dame. "I stay in touch with coach Latina and coach Weis. I generally text or e-mail them. They've been asking me if I'm going to visit. I'm probably going to get up there for an official visit."

Josh hasn't settled on his top five schools at this time, but he will try to do that soon, so that he can start to schedule his trips.

"I don't have my top-five yet," Jenkins said. "In the next couple weeks, I'll probably decide on that. I know a couple official visits that I'm going to. I'm going to Florida State and I'm going to Ohio State. Those are the only visits that I have laid out. I'll probably go to West Virginia for an official visit as well.

"I'm kind of lying low right now. I've tried not to call coaches unless they ask me. Right now I'm just trying to have a good summer, so I've tried to take a step away from recruiting."
