Irish Are Staying In Touch

Notre Dame recruiting has been rolling and with only a handful of spots remaining the Irish will need to be selective. A prospect the Irish are staying in touch with is Kapron Lewis-Moore from Weatherford High School (Texas).

Kapron Lewis-Moore (6-foot-5, 230 pounds) will be a name to keep an eye on as recruiting rolls along. The Irish have commitments from two defensive ends currently, but they might need to add a third.

"I mostly keep in touch with coach Ianello," Kapron responded when asked about his contact with Notre Dame. "I've been texting him mostly. He's told me that he'd keep me updated on the recruitment. He tells me who has committed and what position he plays.

"Notre Dame is the only school that I know for a fact that I'm going to take a visit to. I'm still set up for my official visit on September 21. I haven't set up any other visits. Right now, I've got my Notre Dame visit and that's it. We have an open week when I visit Notre Dame, and that's our only one, so all my other visits are going to have to be after my season."

Lewis-Moore won't have trouble finding his other four official visits. He has scholarship offers from over 20 colleges. A few besides Notre Dame to have offered are Arizona, Kansas, Washington State, Arkansas, Colorado, Texas A&M, Minnesota, Duke, Baylor, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Wisconsin, SMU, Illinois, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Virginia.

"I'll probably start to narrow down my list of schools to something manageable right before two-a-days start," Kapron said. "I want to take the pressure off a little bit as I head into my season.

"As of right now, recruiting has slowed down a little bit. I still get text messages from the coaches but not as much as I used to. Everything has been all good lately. I'm still lifting and getting ready for our season." Top Stories
