Davis interested in Irish

A new name to add to your list is Bruce Davis. Davis is a defensive end prospect from League City, TX. Davis committed to Texas early in the campaign and has since backed off that commitment and is looking at other schools. Davis is starting to set some visits and wants to visit Notre Dame officially.

Bruce Davis had led his team to a 7-0 start so far this year. He has also recorded 44 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 20 quarterback hurries and 4 pass break ups. "Our team is playing very well. I think I am having a good season so far."

I asked Davis why he is open to other schools. "I committed to Texas early. I was real excited about them and I have decided I need to look around a bit. I think most schools still feel that I am committed to Texas but I am not. I want to look at other schools and see what is out there." I asked Bruce if that meant Texas is out of the picture now. "I am not sure, they haven't been calling me lately."

So who does Bruce want to visit? "I talked to Coach Preston from Notre Dame last night. I really liked what he had to say. When they call again, I am going to set up an official visit with them. I want to visit there in the next couple of weeks before we start the playoffs. I am also looking at LSU, UCLA and Arkansas. I am starting to talk to quite a few teams now. I think most thought I was committed to Texas so they are starting to call me now."

I asked Bruce why he is interested in Notre Dame. "I have been watching them play a lot this year. They are a very good team and Coach Willingham seems like a great guy. The team seems very happy together and they all play on the same level. It just looks like he has them heading in the right direction."

Bruce said he was not sure what he planned to do from here on out. "I will set up my visits in the next couple of weeks. I am going to have to wait and see who calls me and who is interested in me. I am not sure how many visits I will take."

Comments. Davis is a 4 star player and the type of defensive end they are looking for. I think he would fit in well at Notre Dame. I think the Irish have as good a shot at him as anyone.
