Fox On Board

As Dan Fox was beginning to stockpile scholarship offers, the linebacker from Cleveland, Ohio got the one he wanted in the middle of May.

On Thursday at Notre Dame, Dan Fox made it official.

"I'm at Notre Dame," Fox said through a text message. "I just committed and you can go public."

The Irish like the St. Ignatius standout at outside linebacker. The 6-foot-4, 217-pound Fox held 18 scholarship offers from the likes of Michigan State, Wisconsin, Virginia, West Virginia and Stanford.

Charlie Weis offered Fox a scholarship on May 19th, before heading over to the Middle East to meet with U.S. soldiers at several military bases.

Last season, Fox had 42 solos, 19 assists and three interceptions, with one of those going for an 80-yard pick six against Glenville in the state playoffs.

Fox is the sixth member to commit to the Irish in this recruiting class, joining Carlo Calabrese, Theo Riddick, Cierre Wood, Tyler Stockton and Jake Golic.

Irish Eyes will catch up with Fox later tonight for more on his visit and commitment.
