The Nation's Top Tackle To Take In ND Again

This fall, it looks like Xavier Nixon, the nation's top-ranked offensive tackle, will visit Notre Dame again.

"I, for one, am very excited about visiting Notre Dame," Fotini Nixon, Xavier's mother wrote in an email.

Xavier Nixon camped at Notre Dame last summer, his only time ever in South Bend. He made the trip with his father. This will be his mother's first time seeing the campus.

The 6-foot-6, 285-pound Fayetteville, N.C. product recently trimmed his list of plus-30 scholarship offers down to in no particular order, the Irish, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

"I think that we are visiting for the Michigan game; not sure as of yet," Fotini Nixon wrote.

The Irish host the Wolverines on Sept. 13.

As far as other official visits go, Nixon's Jack Britt high head coach Richard Bailey was quoted in an article late last month saying, "the only ones that I feel pretty confident that he is going to take for sure would be a trip to Miami and to LSU." Bailey later said he thought Florida would get an official visit, but that he hates speaking for Xavier.

Nixon plans on announcing his college intentions at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in early January. As of right now, nine schools have their fingers crossed.
