Derrick Williams hoping to hear from Irish

<P>Tailback Derrick Williams has had a fine season so far. He has offers from all the schools in the Pac 10 other than Stanford. He has an interest in Notre Dame as well.

Derrick Willams is a tailback prospect. He is listed at 5-11, 195 pounds and ran a 4.5 at the Nike Camp. He has rushed 140 times for 1008 yards and 12 touchdowns this year.

"I just got back from Cal. I really enjoyed it up there. They have a new coach, Coach Tedford and he has done a great job of turning that program around. I liked the campus and the players. It was nice out there."

Derrick is also starting to narrow down his list a bit. "I have a visit schedule with Oregon. It was scheduled for December 6th but I might have to change it because I might have a game that weekend. I have offers from all the schools in the Pac 10 other than Stanford. Colorado and Colorado State have also offered. I also like Notre Dame quite a bit. They send letters all the time but I haven't spoken to anyone from there yet."

Comments. Derrick is a guy that Notre Dame likes but I think they will wait and see what happens with Travis Thomas before they start recruiting Williams harder. If Notre Dame starts showing some interest, I think they have a good shot at him. Top Stories
