Calls from last night

I was able to reach a few players last night in a difficult night of calling. I spoke with offensive line prospect John Sullivan, safety prospect Ira Guilford and linebacker prospect Wesley Jefferson last night. Find out what is happening with them.

Center prospect John Sullivan has yet to visit a school. He was scheduled to visit Notre Dame last week but had to change that because of an illness. "I got sick so I couldn't make it. I rescheduled the visit for January 17th."

I asked John if he plans to visit other schools. "I have a visit scheduled to Boston College this week. I might visit Maryland but I am not sure."

I also asked John if it were likely he would make a commitment to Notre Dame before his January 17th visit. "I would say that is a very strong possibility but I am just not ready to make that statement yet. I want to check out a few schools."

Comments. Wish he could have visited last week but Notre Dame still looks very solid here.

Ira Guilford went to Penn State last week. "It was real nice. I had a great time. It was nice to see the school and the coaches. I liked it quite a bit."

Ira still has three more visits to take. He has Ohio State on 1-10, Notre Dame on 1-17 and Rutgers on 1-24. I asked Ira if there was a good chance he might commit on his Ohio State visit. "I don't know, I might do that. They are my leader."

Ira finished his season with 2,268 yards and 29 touchdowns on 226 carries. He also added 87 tackles and 3 sacks on defense. Most schools are recruiting him as either a running back or a safety.

Comments. I think Ohio State is too far out in front for anyone to catch them. I bet he commits on his visit. He could decide to take Notre Dame as well.

Wesley Jefferson visited Miami last weekend. I caught up with Wesley to get his opinion on things. "I liked it a lot. I think I fit in real well there. Hanging out with the players was the best part of the trip. I could see myself going to school there."

I asked Wesley what the coaches told him while he was there. "Miami loses every single linebacker on their roster except Leon Williams. They don't have anyone so I think I can come in and play right away."

I asked Wesley if Miami was his leader at this point. "No, honestly, I don't have a leader." I then asked him which two schools he thinks it will come down to. "I would say probably Miami and Maryland but you never know, I could really like one of the other schools as well. I do plan to take all my visits so the other schools will have a chance."

Comments. Not good. It doesn't look good right now but anything can change with a visit. If they can get him to visit, I still think they will have a chance. Top Stories
