Notre Dame Is Evaluating Coxson

A few weeks ago, Notre Dame assistant coach Ron Powlus requested the film of four-star receiver Adrian Coxson. Now, the Baltimore City College receiver is waiting to hear back from the Irish staff.

"It made me feel like I'm worth looking at, and that they're going to give me a good chance and evaluate me, and see how they like me."

When they watch the film, there's a good chance Charlie Weis and company are going to like Adrian Coxson a lot.

The 6-foot-2, 187-pound Coxson already holds scholarship offers from the likes of Georgia, Boston College, Florida, Penn State, West Virginia, Maryland, Pittsburgh and Syracuse. He'd love to add one from Notre Dame.

"Their past history," Coxson said of the Irish. "I know it's a very good well organized program, that allows people to make it to the next level."

This past season, Coxson used his 4.46 second speed in the 40-yard dash to catch 38 passes for 990 yards and 13 touchdowns.

"Coaches like that I go up and get the ball, and I'm exciting every time I catch it," Coxson explained. "I just want to catch every pass that's up in the air."

Coxson has taken visits to Penn State, Maryland and Pittsburgh. He is also hearing from Michigan and claims no recruiting favorites at this time.

"I'm going to try and visit all the schools and weigh my options," Coxson said.

"The first thing I'm looking for, I must get a good education and just an opportunity for me to play and for me to make it to the next level."

Coxson has a 3.1 GPA, and wants to possibly major in sports management, sports therapy or criminal justice. He would also like to make his college decision before the start of his senior season.

Coxson has been trying to get in touch with Powlus since he sent Notre Dame his film.

"I call him, but sometimes I get no answer," Coxson said. "I'll call him until he answers. I guess he's busy with spring practice and everything."
