Riggs Shuffles The Deck

Notre Dame has offered three prospects from St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Cody Riggs is one of them. The standout cornerback had the Irish in the lead but the interest from other schools has made him take a step back.

Cody Riggs (5-foot-9.5, 165-pounds) had considered Notre Dame as his leader for several months, but in the back of his mind, he was hoping that the Florida Gators would make him an offer. That just happened and now Riggs has leveled the playing field.

"Florida just offered me," Riggs said when asked about his recruitment. "I just got off the phone with them and they said they were sending me an offer. I've been waiting for that one for a while. I actually didn't think they were going to offer, until I saw them at my spring game. I performed very well and that's when I figured that they'd offer me. The whole coaching staff was there except coach Meyer."

With several new schools expressing their interest, Riggs wants to make sure he's making the best decision, so he's going to give every school a look.

"I don't have a leader anymore," Riggs explained. "I've gotten a lot of interest from other schools and so I'm going to look at a lot of other schools. I think a lot of schools were holding off because they thought that I was a lock for Notre Dame, so everything is even right now."

"I want to take a visit up the see Georgia and Wake Forest and probably Florida now. I might visit Ole Miss, Florida State, and I might go up to see Notre Dame again, but I think I've seen everything up there."
