Jackson Commits to ND

Bennett Jackson, from Raritan High School (Hazlet, N.J.) became Notre Dame's fifth verbal commitment of the 2010 recruiting class today. The four-star wide receiver selected the Irish over Pittsburgh, Michigan State, West Virginia, Rutgers and North Carolina.

Bennett Jackson (6-foot-1, 170-pound) grew up watching the Fighting Irish and today ended his recruitment by announcing his plans to play football at Notre Dame.

Jackson just confirmed his committment with IrishEyes. "Yeah I committed," Jackson responded when reached by phone. "I think Notre Dame is the best place for me. I couldn't find any negatives. I like all the fan support, and everything else about it, and I came to the conclusion that Notre Dame was the best school for me. "I liked everything about it when I went on my trip. I was comfortable there. I liked all the players and the coaching staff, so that was pretty much why I made my decision. "I'm going to go on my official visit to the USC game," he added.
