After ending his recruitment, linebacker Kendall Moore (6-foot-2.5, 229-pounds) was hoping to take several official visits. What Moore didn't realize is that his future head coach was against the idea.
"I was thinking about taking some visits," Moore explained when asked about his intentions. "But I talked to coach Weis about it, and he said that once you commit to someone that you shouldn't take visits to other schools. We talked about it and he explained how he felt about it and I respected that. I believe in what he was saying, so I don't think I'm going to take any visits.
"I wasn't really thinking about it from his end. I wasn't going to take a trip to look at another school. I was looking at it more like a family trip and being able to see some college football. It's a nice chance to get away, but it's okay. It's not important enough to me to get into an argument over it or anything."
"I talked to Chris Martin about it as well, and he told me that it isn't a big deal, so it's all good," he added.
Moore confirmed that he is a solid commitment to the Irish and is happy with his decision.
"I feel like it's a weight off my shoulders," Kendall said. "It's definitely a good feeling."
