Tommy Rees(6-foot-3, 192-pounds) isn't sure what the Notre Dame offense will look like when he gets his chance to play, but if it looks anything like the one he saw last weekend against Michigan State, he'll be a happy man.
"It was good, I really enjoyed it," Rees said of the come from behind win against the Spartans. "It was a great game, and I had a really good time. I came for the Syracuse game last year, but this was my first game this year.
"It was obviously a great game. It was close throughout, and they won it at the end. The atmosphere was great and the student section was unbelievable. I thought Notre Dame played well and deserved the win. I think Michigan State kind of hung around, but Notre Dame made a play at the end to win the game, which is great.
"You can definitely feel the tradition, and sitting right next to the students you can feel it. It was a great win, so you can obviously feel it that much more. It was exciting and I'm just eager to get to Notre Dame and be a part of the tradition. I loved every minute of it."
Like many high school players, Rees had to get a practice in prior to leaving for South Bend. Once he arrived, he made the most of his trip.
"We actually got there a little late, but I got there in time to talk to coach Powlus and coach Ianello," Rees explained. "I went on the field when they were warming up. I talked to some of the other commits about the game and it was great. I talked to Christian Lombard a lot, because I sat next to him during the game, and then I spoke with Blake Lueders and Alex Welch a bunch.
"I didn't stay after the game, but I'm hoping to do that when I come up for the USC game. I did go into the locker room after the game and talk to some guys though."
