The final day is here

Welcome Notre Dame fans to signing day. Notre Dame currently sits at 19 known commitments. Just as last year, the Irish enter the final day awaiting the final word on three players. Last year the Irish went one for three on the final day. The Irish coaching staff is hoping to do much better than that.

The final word will come today on three players that could really give a major boost to this class. Notre Dame has a great shot to land all three. If the Irish can land all three, this will be a very successful class.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the decision of Victor Abiamiri. It has been a heated battle all year and it appears that Notre Dame will land Victor. Victor would break the curse of the pass rusher for Notre Dame. His signature would give Coach Willingham and his staff a dominating player that can get to the quarterback. Let's hope they get his signature.

I have been saying for many months that Ambrose Wooden was born to attend Notre Dame. Wooden would give Notre Dame a lot of options. He can play cornerback, wide receiver or a number of other positions. His signature and speed would give Notre Dame another quality athlete and allow Notre Dame to experiment with a lot of players at various positions.

The final piece to the puzzle is Mitchell Thomas. Thomas announces this morning on radio and his signature would give the Irish 4 linebackers in this class. After watching some film last night, I cannot imagine how this player is ranked with only 3 stars. Thomas brings a lot of athletic ability to the position and very good speed. The Irish are rumored to be the favorite for his signature.

Could today be the day they break the signing day curse? The rumors have been that Notre Dame will sign all three players today. Nothing is ever certain, especially on signing day. If the Irish coaching staff can get these three remaining players, this will be considered a great class and likely ranked in the top five by most recruiting services.
