ND hanging in

Scout.com's No. 2 rated wide receiver Kyle Prater remains committed to USC, but he decided to take one more look at Notre Dame last weekend when the Irish hosted UConn.

Kyle Prater (6-foot-5, 205-pounds) took his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend as the UConn Huskies were in town for the final home game of the 2009 season. Notre Dame ultimately dropped a double-overtime game to Connecticut 33-30.

"I had a good time," Prater said. "Whatever happens, happens. I can't really discuss what is going on (with coach Weis). We had a good conversation. Coach Weis is a real cool guy. He told me the truth, that he isn't sure if he's going to there or not. As far as that, we'll just have to wait and see. My interest in Notre Dame is still high.

"I came up there with my family. I had a great visit. They showed me a lot. I've been there before, so anything that I saw I'd seen before. I really had a great time with the players though. I know a lot of the them already. Robert Hughes was my host."

Prater will take his official visit to USC this weekend. Although a number of schools have been mentioned as possible destinations for Prater, he's fairly certain there are only two.

"Notre Dame and USC, that's it" Prater responded when asked which schools were under consideration. "After my visit (to USC), I'll go from there."
