"I'm just excited about everything," Wood told IrishEyes. "I'm excited to get there and work out with the team. I know I need to gain some weight and get stronger. On the field I just need to show my skills and show them that I can play. There really shouldn't be anything to hold me back."
Wood finished his senior campaign with 58 tackles, 17 passes broken up, one interception, seven blocked punts and a forced fumble. Scout.com's Dave Berk evaluated Wood's senior highlights and liked what he saw off the future Irish cornerback.
"Lo Wood shows the ability to cover, support the run and also make plays on special teams," Berk commented. "With good height and a good burst, Wood is a player who'll have a chance to make a difference on the field. I would have liked to see more film where he turns his hips but he's always in position to make the play. On special teams Wood has the burst off the line and desire to layout and block kicks when needed. Shows good hands and seems to put himself in position to make plays."
